Green is the new black. From light bulbs to fuel to paper products to cleaning solutions, nearly every manufacturer of anything is on jumping on the green bandwagon. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - the more consumers using environmentally-friendly products, the better - but it can be overwhelming.
At Clean Works, we do offer green cleaning solutions for your home or business. Most of these products and techniques are the same products and techniques we've been using for almost 20 years. According to Presidential Executive Order #13101, Green Cleaning is defined as "Products and services that reduce the health and environmental impacts compared to similar products and services used for the same purpose." Reduce the health and environmental impacts... that's all. Compare one technique to another, the one that's best suited to minimize negative impact on the user and other inhabitants of the space is the green technique. Compare one cleaning solution to another, the one less harmful to humans and the environment is green. There is no benchmark from green, so long as the product or service "reduces the health and environmental impacts" compared to the other best suited products or services.
Clean Works Services embraces the ambiguity of green cleaning. We realize there are shades of green, not just green. Green cleaning as proposed by several associations and touted by many proponents may not work for certain applications. For this reason, we allow the client and the project to dictate just how green we can be.
Saving the environment is not a yes or no situation - it's how much can you do and how often. When it comes to protecting the health of your family, friends, co-workers and clients, don't sacrifice cleanliness for green, but if possible, let's get the best of both worlds.
